Teeth bleaching has become a very common dental procedure, and many people even do it from the comfort of their own home. Some of those people don’t have great results, so there is a lot of misinformation floating around about teeth bleaching. Here, Dr. Sid Solomon talks about some of the facts surrounding this procedure.
Your Dentist is More Effective
At home, you need to make sure your kit is applied for a long period of time to see the kind of results you want. The dentist’s office offers a procedure that is fast and shows results quickly. Of course, you can use the two at the same time for improved results. Just be sure you follow any special recommendations from your dentist when you pursue this route.
The cost can vary, but you’ll need a few 30-60 minute treatments or one two hour session to get it done.
Whitening Toothpaste
First, the most important ingredient in toothpaste is fluoride. Without that, your teeth really aren’t seeing much restorative value. That said, whitening toothpaste can help over time. It’s all the things we do to our teeth to add stains back that make it feel like we’re making no progress.
If you’re stuck in this loop, it may be time to visit your dentist’s chair.
At Home
There are several methods to use at home, just be sure you follow instructions for all of them and that your application is precise. Get help from a friend if you’re unsure, as sensitivity can lead to a lot of discomfort from doing things wrong.
